LA LIGUE PANAFRICAINE – UMOJA DENONCE LE « TERRORISME ECONOMIQUE » DES SANCTIONS AU VENEZUELA ! La Ligue Panafricaine – UMOJA exige la fin des sanctions économiques imposées par l’administration états-unienne à l’encontre de la République bolivarienne du Venezuela. Depuis août 2018 et la tentative d’assassinat contre le président Nicolas Maduro, les forces impérialistes redoublent d’effort pour renverser le pouvoir et mettre un terme au processus révolutionnaire lancé il y a vingt ans par le président Hugo Chávez. Les joutes diplomatiques, les menaces d’invasion militaire, l’utilisation de l’arme humanitaire, les appels à l’insurrection populaire ou les attaques électromagnétiques se succèdent sur fond de propagande médiatique. En soutenant les dernières sanctions américaines qui touchent en premier lieu une population asphyxiée par la crise économique, l’opposition vénézuélienne qui négociait avec le gouvernement une solution politique à La Barbade sous l’égide de la Norvège, prouve simplement qu’elle est l’enfant caché de l’impérialisme le plus cynique. Le Venezuela, qui dispose des plus importantes réserves de pétrole au monde, refuse de devenir la colonie des Etats-Unis. Toutes les tentatives de déstabilisation ont échoué face à la résistance populaire et la loyauté de l’armée bolivarienne. Nous dénonçons le rôle habituel des pays occidentaux de la « communauté internationale » qui prétendent encore une fois donner des leçons de démocratie à Caracas alors qu’ils sont largement minoritaires face à plus de cent-cinquante gouvernements qui ont maintenu leur soutien au gouvernement légal et légitime de Nicolas Maduro. L’Organisation des Nations-Unies doit prendre acte de cette réalité et condamner la déclaration de guerre économique des Etats-Unis contre le Venezuela. Seul maître de son destin, le peuple vénézuélien aujourd’hui, comme le peuple africain de Libye hier, n’a jamais adhéré à la logique de guerre portée par les impérialistes. Victime d’une violation des droits humains liée aux sanctions, le peuple vénézuélien veut la paix et le respect de sa souveraineté. La Ligue Panafricaine – UMOJA exhorte l’Union Africaine à condamner les sanctions visant le Venezuela, sanctions qui vont paradoxalement à l’encontre de la logique de libre-échange voulue par les gouvernements africains lors du dernier sommet de Niamey. N’importe quel peuple africain peut se retrouver demain dans la situation du peuple vénézuélien, victime d’une guerre économique où une puissance, insatisfaite d’accéder aux ressources naturelles, déciderait d’imposer son droit de manière extraterritorial au-dessus du droit international dans le seul but d’éliminer des concurrents. La Russie et la Chine sont directement visés pour leur soutien au Venezuela et leur volonté de maintenir un ordre multipolaire. La solidarité internationale face à l’agression impérialiste soulève beaucoup d’espoir pour les peuples du monde entier, en particulier les peuples africains soumis depuis trop longtemps aux mêmes formes d’ingérence. The Pan-African League – UMOJA demands the end of economic sanctions imposed by the US administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Since August 2018 and the assassination attempt against President Nicolas Maduro, imperialist forces have redoubled their efforts to overthrow the power and put an end to the revolutionary process initiated twenty years ago by the late President Hugo Chávez. Diplomatic clashes, the threats of military invasion, the weaponization of humanitarian aid, calls for popular insurrection or electromagnetic attacks are following one another on the background of media propaganda. By supporting the latest US sanctions that primarily affect a population suffocated by the economic crisis, the Venezuelan opposition, which was negotiating a solution to the political crisis with the government in Barbados under the auspices of Norway, simply proves that it is the hidden child of the most cynical imperialism. Venezuela, which has the largest oil reserves in the world, refuses to become the colony of the United States. All attempts at destabilization failed in front of popular resistance and loyalty of the Bolivarian army. We are denouncing the usual role of the West and the “international community” who claim once again to give a lesson of democracy to Caracas while they are in minority against more than one hundred and fifty governments who have maintained their support to the legal and legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro. The United Nations must act upon this reality and condemn the declaration of economic war waged against Venezuela by the United States. Sole master of its own destiny, the Venezuelan people today, like the African people of Libya yesterday as never adhered to the logic of war embodied by the imperialists. Victim of human rights violation through sanctions, the Venezuelan people want peace and respect of its sovereignty. The Pan-African League – UMOJA urges the African Union to condemn sanctions targeting Venezuela, which paradoxically go against the logic of free trade sought by African governments at the last summit in Niamey. Any African people can find themselves tomorrow in the situation of the Venezuelan people, victim of an economic war where a power, dissatisfied of his access to natural resources, would decide to impose its law extraterritorially regardless of international law for the sole purpose of eliminating competitors. Russia and China are directly targeted for their support to Venezuela and their will to maintain a multipolar order. International solidarity in front of the imperialist aggression raises a lot hope for the peoples of the world, especially for African peoples who are subjected to the same types of meddling for far too long.
